A simple and comforting soup, very present on cold nights in Minas Gerais.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of cornmeal
- 1 liter of water
- 1 beef broth cube (optional)
- 1 small bunch of finely chopped kale
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- Salt to taste
Preparation method:
Dissolve the cornmeal in a little cold water to avoid lumps.
In a pot, heat the oil and sauté the garlic until golden.
Add the remaining water and the beef broth.
Pour in the dissolved cornmeal and stir constantly until thickened.
Cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Add the kale and cook for another 5 minutes.
Serve hot.
